About Suboc.com LLC
Our Purpose for Suboc.com
This web site serves a dual purpose: one side of it is Dusty's book - The Complete Suboc, and the other purpose serves as an outlet for our hobby, raising colorful subocs (aka Trans-Pecos Ratsnakes) and other reptiles - particularly, other western ratsnakes.
Our reason for making this web site is really quite simple. We love these creatures. We are passionate about them. And we want to share that love and passion with others.
We also want to share our knowledge about them. We recognized a deficit in literature on this species, and we wanted to contribute a much-needed information source that is both comprehensive and well-researched using sound and reliable resources.
We intend to work with every color and pattern of this species that ever becomes available, and just like a popular ice cream brand in this reptile’s native state of Texas, “We [keep] all we can, and we sell the rest.”
We hope you enjoy this website, and we look forward to speaking with you and sharing our love for these googly-eyed beauties for many years to come.

“They have the face of a Disney character—open, inquisitive, and friendly--and if ratsnakes can be cute, they are it.”

About Dusty and Amy
Dusty has loved and kept reptiles his entire life. He has kept and bred ratsnakes of many different genera for over 16 years. He has worked in exotic animal clinics as a veterinary technician and veterinary assistant, and has worked as a curatorial assistant in the Reptile and Amphibian Collections at the Monte L. Bean Life Science Musuem at Brigham Young University. Dusty is currently studying Integrative Biology with an emphasis in herpetology at BYU in Provo, Utah. He is a native of Texas.
Amy brings her PR experience, photography skills (which you will see in Dusty's book, The Complete Suboc), and business savvy to the table at Suboc.com LLC. Though most of the actual animal maintenance and animal selection is directed by her husband, Dusty, she is always helping with the business side of Suboc.com. She wears lots of different hats here, and Suboc.com would not exist without her.
