Paint Jobs: Normal Pattern: Red Phase (from Davis Mtns. - Boy Scout Rd.)

Also called: reds

Ours originate from Boy Scout Road on the north end of the Davis Mountains in a locality that yields fewer subocs than most places within their range, and only a tiny portion of the animals from that area are red-colored. The light reddish animal in this photo, however, is from Brewster County. Photo courtesy of Antoine Burke.

The newborn snakelings are usually brownish, but may be brick or pinkish in color. Just like with the orange morph, the red intensifies with age. And much like bloodred corn snakes, red phase look their best as adults.

The 'Red' is probably the rarest naturally occurring suboc morph that we are working with.

The mother of our stock is a brilliant red adult, and we're hoping to see her red color in her grand-snakelings, if not in her own offspring.

We will update photos of our Davis Mtn. animals as they grow.
